Thames agility train at BCA (Berkshire College of Agriculture) indoor equestrian school on Tuesday nights between 7.30 & 9.30.

Training is broken down into two sessions.

Each session is made up of four sections, which consist of two jumping and two agility courses, the training weaves are positioned in the middle of the school for those that wish to use them.

The early session consists of one small (Mini) group and three large (Standard) dog groups, there are approximately  8 - 10 members per class, the late session is made up of one medium/large (Midi/Standard) group and three large (Standard) dog groups. We try to cater for all our members which are levels from Elementary, Starter, Novice, Intermediate & Senior.

All our instructors are club members who volunteer to help and pass on their knowledge to others. We encourage all our members to get involved with club activities.

The club holds four diploma nights during the year between club members which is aimed to encourage members to attend shows and to have a go at all aspects involved in a show I.e. ring party, judging, etc. The club presents annual trophies & Medals at its AGM for all members that have gained the most points at shows or diploma nights through out the year.

The club also takes part in club matches which we call winter league. These consist of a small show for our members and the other clubs that take part, the matches are usually held in the month's of Oct, Nov, Jan and Feb. These matches offer the opportunity to compete outside of the show season.

Many of our members attend regular weekend shows, this is as much a social event as the show itself, it makes for a very enjoyable break with club members,

The club holds its annual Championship Show on the 2nd weekend in June at Newbury Showground. This is probably one of the biggest two day agility show in Europe with 12 rings per day, we rely a great deal on help from our members along with people that attend the show which is always very much appreciated.

Due to the popularity of agility, our last beginner course was in October 2005, and the club have a waiting list at present, but if you do require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our agility coordinator Carol Dicker at agility@thamesdtc.co.uk
