GUIDELINES FOR PUPPIES AT AGILITY
Under Rule 22 of the Club Rules, Thames D.T.C Committee are happy for members to bring their puppies or older dogs into the Agility venue, providing they are kept both on the lead and under control in the school. This is for them to get acclimatised to the exciting atmosphere that Agility creates. Any interaction or socialisation with other dogs or puppies should be done elsewhere.
ˇ These are guidelines as to how the Committee would like members to conduct themselves in this instance:
ˇ Please do not interfere with or cause a distraction to, other members or instructors working or instructing their classes.
ˇ If asked to move by any of the above please respect their wishes, and move elsewhere.
ˇ If your dog is misbehaving or being a nuisance, we would rather you take it outside by the large doors or on the concreted area, where it can watch or listen from that point.
ˇ If you want to socialise with other members with their puppies or older dogs then please do so outside the school area.
ˇ Do not AT ANY TIME take your dog on to any of the equipment at the beginning, change over or end of the class.
ˇ If your pup or dog gets upset please take it away from the situation.
ˇ Please make sure your dog is put away so as you can assist in putting out or putting away the equipment.
The above are not rules, but guidelines. If there are too many puppies or older dogs brought into the training area for the above-mentioned reasons, then the Committee may have to review the situation and restrict access solely to the outside of the school. Likewise if a member is found abusing the above guidelines this would have the same effect.
Remember, YOU are responsible for
the behaviour and safety of your
puppy or dog at all times.
